This is a fantastic opportunity to work for one of the largest furniture manufacturers in the UK. You will receive full training whilst working alongside experienced trades people and you will gain a furniture manufacturing qualification. What will the apprentice be doing?

You will be doing a variety of things on a day to day basis;

. To prepare frames and upholstery including adding different foams and fibres.

. using a wide range of spring systems.

.working with a large range of materials including fabrics and leathers.

. cutting various materials ready for upholstery.

.Tension and straining to position them.

. Using compressed air equipment like staple guns aswell as hand tools.

This is just a base of what you will be doing and learning.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will be training within your workplace alongside experienced manufacturers and you will be gaining a furniture manufacturer level 2 qualification. The skills and qualities you will gain will help you as you develop your knowledge skills and experience within our teams.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

There is a possibility of a permanent position within DFS, as they have the opportunities for progression for the right candidates

Candidates will have a great opportunity to take part in doing the Duke of Edinburgh Gold award, which will help with developing team building skills and experiencing the great outdoors. Candidates must be 18 or over - this is due to the machinery you will be using and insurance purposes for the company.
